"WWE Raw" took place at San Diego's Pechanga Arena on Monday. Roman Reigns was in the building for the first time since his Money in the Bank title defense against LA Knight, and he finally faced down the 946.

I have to say, it's nice to see Roman Reigns start to show he actually gives a damn about his family getting run over by cars and kidnapped. You would think he'd have sprung into action much sooner. Really, though, the Reigns' patience just highlights his heel ways.

In the end, Reigns made the save to close Monday's show after the 946 overcame the Usos and Solo Sikoa. It was built up with a dramatic staredown, and ultimately ended with Reigns hitting a Superman Punch and Spear to stand tall with his compadres.

The interaction was fine, but it made one thing glaringly obvious: 946 needs to go over in this feud if we want to avoid a repeat of history. Remember when John Cena infamously buried the Nexus ? After how 946 has been presented since their debut, they will desperately need the win in what will likely be their first full match together: WarGames.

Does that lead to a Royce Keys title shot? Maybe. That could be fun. Where does Jacob Fatu fit back into all of this? Who knows. But it's relatively surprising that Reigns is taking his spot — at least that's how it seems for now. Don't be surprised if Fatu returns in the WarGames match, which only raises concerns about a potential Bloodline win.

Reigns bookended Monday's "Raw," which is nice, considering how rarely he's around. But to start the show, he met WWE Champion Sami Zayn, who was all love and smiles, reminiscing about their days as part of the first iteration of The Bloodline.

However, the tones of each man had intensified by the promo's end, with Zayn standing his ground as a continuously underestimated champion.

It was a phenomenal interaction, despite its brevity. Reigns questioned whether Zayn would even make it to their Crown Jewel match as champion, a nice wrinkle that prompted the tease of Mr. Money in the Bank, Penta.

Admittedly, it's pretty unfair to Penta that Reigns shows up to work so rarely, right? You can't be cashed in on if you aren't around. That's why Penta storming the ring in Riyadh to make a choice between the two world champions has some potential brilliance. Here's to hoping.

Penta's arrival wasn't just for the tease. He did wrestle Monday and picked up a win over Bron Breakker. It wasn't without your typical Vision shenanigans, and the match was good, like every interaction between these two. But it really begs the question: What the hell is WWE doing with Breakker next?

Breakker's World Tag Team titles are exclusively a prop right now. There virtually isn't even a tag division on this show, so it doesn't matter. But guess what? There could be if WWE wanted there to be! So, that's insane. Get the belts away from The Vision — along with Breakker and Bronson Reed. The latter wasn't even on this show, and neither was Oba Femi nor Logan Paul. Breakker is already feeling completely lost again after the attempt at reheating him with the Femi mini-feud.

You're probably wondering how this one isn't going to JD McDonagh vs. Joe Hendry, which is fair. But that's been a joke for a while now, so it expands beyond Monday.

Anyway, before Lyra Valkyria's match against Lola Vice, WWE showed footage of Valkyria backstage earlier in the day. She was paranoid about being stalked by Bayley — which Bayley was indeed doing. Then she accidentally punched a passerby, Vice.

It immediately highlighted how quickly this version of Valkyria has been turned into a joke, and her losing via a Bayley distraction (again) was so very apparent. Their blowoff "No DQ" match is, hopefully, next week, after Bayley announced it in the ring afterward.

Valkyria should win so she can start salvaging her reputation. But I'm not sold. (Unless Bayley still hasn't signed a new WWE contract.)

Chad Gable is unstoppable.

WWE announced pre-show that Gable would defend the Intercontinental title in a triple-threat against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee, and you just knew we were in for a treat. He's already put on two absolute bangers with each guy, so combining the matches into one was guaranteed brilliance. And it was.

Gable ultimately came away the victor, as he should have — and now, we can hopefully move on from him interacting with luchadors for a long time.

Listen, everything he's been doing with these guys has obviously been great. But we have to freshen it up before things get stale. (I'm not sure stale is possible here, but still.)

Ethan Page and Big Cass each attacked post-match, which was a nice touch, since they could easily have been booked to ruin the match. WWE has been clearly focusing on giving the mid-card scene some serious love, so that's great. It's worth noting that Cass and Page didn't seem aligned, since they didn't interact. I don't exactly hate the idea of them working together, though. You have an easy team there, WWE. You're welcome.

I give Monday's "Raw" a crown score of: 👑 6.5/10 👑

Intercontinental Championship: Chad Gable (c.) def. Dragon Lee, Rey Mysterio — 👑 4.75/5 👑

Lola Vice def. Lyra Valkyria — 👑 2.75/5 👑

JD McDonagh def. Joe Hendry — 👑 1.5/5 👑

Chelsea Green and Iyo Sky def. The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez) — 👑 3.5/5 👑

Penta def. Bron Breakker — 👑 3.5/5 👑

Bronco takes a Spear from Reigns, and the Bloodline stands tall.

It's good to see Reigns finally give a damn about his family after all this turmoil.

He walks to the center of the ring, and the Bloodline all stand. All four stare down, and the big brawl ensues.

The Usos each hit suicide dives on opposite ends of the ring. Solo takes Keys into the ring to try to land the Samoan Spike, but Hayes hits him with a crowbar, just like last week. 846 begins to completely beat down the Bloodline, as Jaida shows off some handcuffs. Keys threatens Solo with them, and Reigns' music hits.

Keys gets on the announce desk and calls them idiots, asking when they're going to learn. Then Solo appears out of nowhere to trip Keys on the desk and send Hayes into him. OTM get in the ring to go at it with the Usos.

Jimmy gets on the mic to say they have nothing to lose after getting their brothers taken out. He invites 946 to the ring, and they start to make their way out through the crowd.

The Usos pull up backstage with a bat and a chair before heading to the ring. Well, here's your main event segment.

Gable starts landing German Suplexes to each opponent. He drops the singlet straps and goes for another on Rey, launching him right into Lee, who takes a tornado DDT! Rey springboards to get caught by Gable. They roll up, and Gable counters to get the win!

Somewhat anticlimactic sequence at the end there, but a fantastic match, as expected. And surprisingly, no interference from Big Cass or Ethan Page, who have been around these guys lately.

Well, I spoke somewhat too soon, as both guys have emerged for the post-match attack.

Lee hits the Dragonbomb on Gable. Rey breaks up the pin, then Lee throws Gable to the outside. Rey springs up over Lee to avoid an Alabama Slam and Hurricanrana Lee into the ropes! Gable returns to take a 619! Lee takes one! The Frog Splash from Rey! Gable returns to break up the pin!

Lee flies into the corner off a Gable belly-to-belly. Gable fails the Moonsault with Lee's feet up! Rey gets him on the ropes. Lee, too! He goes for the 619 and gets caught by Gable for an ankle lock, but Lee super kicks them both and drops Rey with a Styles Clash for the two-count!

Back in the ring, Rey nails a floatover splash on Gable for a near-fall. Gable crawls to the corner, where Rey attacks with a shoulder check and punches. Gable sneaks out underneath Rey, ripping his feet out from under Rey to ram him face-first into the top turnbuckle.

Lee launches Gable off the apron with a Hurricanrana, and Rey hits him with a top-rope West Coast Pop.

Gable starts to work over Lee's leg, cranking and twisting until he bounces off the ropes to take a German Suplex and super kick.

Lee baseball slide kicks Rey into the announce desk. Uh-oh. He has the dive set up. He hits the ropes, and Gable enters for a big belly-to-belly Suplex for the near-fall.
